This Standard specifies an instrumental method for determining the water vapour transmission rate of plastic film, plastic sheeting and multi-layer structures including plastics, which have smooth surfaces without any embossed portions, using an infrared detection sensor.

NOTE The International Standard corresponding to this Standard and the symbol of degree of correspondence are as follows.

ISO 15106-2 : 2003 Plastics — Film and sheeting — Determination of water vapour transmission rate — Part 2 : Infrared detection sensor method (MOD)

In addition, symbols which denote the degree of correspondence in the contents between the relevant International Standard and JIS are IDT (identical), MOD (modified), and NEQ (not equivalent) according to ISO/IEC Guide 21-1.
