{"id":281812,"date":"2024-10-19T19:02:41","date_gmt":"2024-10-19T19:02:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pdfstandards.shop\/product\/uncategorized\/bs-en-60601-2-412009a12015\/"},"modified":"2024-10-25T15:43:10","modified_gmt":"2024-10-25T15:43:10","slug":"bs-en-60601-2-412009a12015","status":"publish","type":"product","link":"https:\/\/pdfstandards.shop\/product\/publishers\/bsi\/bs-en-60601-2-412009a12015\/","title":{"rendered":"BS EN 60601-2-41:2009+A1:2015"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Clause&nbsp;1 of the general standard<sup>1)<\/sup> applies, except as follows:<\/p>\n<p><b>201.1.1<\/b> *Scope<\/p>\n<p><i>Replacement<\/i>:<\/p>\n<p>This particular standard applies to the <small style=\"text-transform: uppercase\">basic safety<\/small> and <small style=\"text-transform: uppercase\">essential performance<\/small> of <small style=\"text-transform: uppercase\">surgical luminaires and luminaires for diagnosis<\/small>, hereafter referred to as <small style=\"text-transform: uppercase\">me equipment<\/small>.<\/p>\n<p>This particular standard does not apply to<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>headlights;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>endoscopes, laparoscopes and their light sources, which are covered by IEC&nbsp;60601-2-18;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>luminaires used in dentistry, which are covered by ISO&nbsp;9680;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>luminaires for general purposes, which are covered by IEC&nbsp;60598-2-1 and IEC&nbsp;60598-2-4;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>luminaires dedicated to therapeutic purposes;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>special purpose lights with different conditions of use such as UV lights for dermatological diagnosis, slit lamps for ophthalmology, lights for surgical microscopes and lights for surgical navigation systems;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>lights connected to surgical instruments;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>luminaires of an emergency lighting, which are covered by IEC&nbsp;60598-2-22.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote>\n<p>NOTE See also 4.2 of the general standard.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><b>201.1.2<\/b> Object<\/p>\n<p><i>Replacement:<\/i><\/p>\n<p>The object of this particular standard is to establish particular <small style=\"text-transform: uppercase\">basic safety<\/small> and <small style=\"text-transform: uppercase\">essential performance<\/small> requirements for <small style=\"text-transform: uppercase\">surgical luminaires<\/small> and <small style=\"text-transform: uppercase\">luminaires for diagnosis<\/small> as defined in 201.3.<\/p>\n<p><b>201.1.4<\/b> Particular standards<\/p>\n<p><i>Replacement:<\/i><\/p>\n<p>In the IEC&nbsp;60601 series, particular standards may modify, replace or delete requirements contained in the general standard and collateral standards as appropriate for the particular <small style=\"text-transform: uppercase\">me equipment<\/small> under consideration, and may add other <small style=\"text-transform: uppercase\">basic safety<\/small> and <small style=\"text-transform: uppercase\">essential performance<\/small> requirements.<\/p>\n<p>A requirement of a particular standard takes priority over the general standard.<\/p>\n<p>For brevity, IEC&nbsp;60601-1 is referred to in this particular standard as the general standard. Collateral standards are referred to by their document number.<\/p>\n<p>The numbering of clauses and subclauses of this particular standard corresponds to that of the general standard with the prefix &#8220;201&#8221; (e.g. 201.1 in this standard addresses the content of Clause&nbsp;1 of the general standard) or applicable collateral standard with the prefix &#8220;20x&#8221; where x is the final digit(s) of the collateral standard document number (e.g. 202.4 in this particular standard addresses the content of Clause&nbsp;4 of the 60601-1-2 collateral standard, 203.4 in this particular standard addresses the content of Clause&nbsp;4 of the 60601-1-3 collateral standard, etc.). The changes to the text of the general standard are specified by the use of the following words:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Replacement&#8221; means that the clause or subclause of the general standard or applicable collateral standard is replaced completely by the text of this particular standard.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Addition&#8221; means that the text of this particular standard is additional to the requirements of the general standard or applicable collateral standard.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Amendment&#8221; means that the clause or subclause of the general standard or applicable collateral standard is amended as indicated by the text of this particular standard.<\/p>\n<p>Subclauses, figures or tables which are additional to those of the general standard are numbered starting from 201.101. However, due to the fact that definitions in the general standard are numbered 3.1 through 3.139, additional definitions in this standard are numbered beginning from 201.3.201.
