Scope<\/strong><\/p>\n

1.1 This test method covers the determination of flash points by the Tag Open-Cup Apparatus of cutback asphalts having flash points of less than 93\u00b0<\/span>C (200\u00b0<\/span>F).<\/p>\n

Note<\/span> 1\u2014Specifications commonly designate the Cleveland Open Cup (ASTM D 92\u2013<\/span>IP 36) Method for asphalt cements and cutback asphalts having flash points above 79\u00b0<\/span>C (175\u00b0<\/span>F).<\/p>\n

Note<\/span> 2\u2014This procedure follows in general the procedure outlined in Test Method D 1310, but is restricted to cutback asphalt having flash points of less than 93\u00b0<\/span>C (200\u00b0<\/span>F).<\/p>\n

1.2 The values stated in SI units are the standard.<\/p>\n

However, results of this test may be used as elements of a fire risk assessment which takes into account all of the factors which are pertinent to an assessment of the fire hazard of a particular end use.<\/span><\/p>\n
