IEC SC 86B decided to withdraw IEC 61753-051-3 and create this IEC 61753-051-02 document for Category C. The governing requirements for mechanical and optical connector mateability are covered by the IEC 61754 and IEC 61755 series mechanical and optical interface standards. The authoritative requirements for the operational performance of connector sets are covered by IEC 61753. The standard refers to test standards of the IEC 61300 series.
