It includes materials which are used for the manufacture of components, for pressure equipment.<\/p>\n<p>This European Standard relates to castings characterised by their chemical composition (see <span class=\"xref\">Table&nbsp;2<\/span>) and mechanical properties (see <span class=\"xref\">Tables&nbsp;3<\/span> to <span class=\"xref\">6<\/span>).<\/p>\n<p>In cases where castings are joined by welding by the founder, this European Standard applies.<\/p>\n<p>In cases where castings are welded:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>to wrought products (plates, tubes, forgings), or<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>by non founders,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>this European Standard does not apply.<\/p>\n<div class=\"non-normative-note\">\n<div class=\"note-label\">\n  NOTE\n <\/div>\n<p>For this harmonised supporting standard for materials, presumption of conformity to the Essential Requirements of the Directive is limited to technical data of the material in the standard and does not presume adequacy of the material to specific equipment.
