{"id":284471,"date":"2024-10-19T19:15:24","date_gmt":"2024-10-19T19:15:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pdfstandards.shop\/product\/uncategorized\/bs-en-54-122015\/"},"modified":"2024-10-25T16:04:26","modified_gmt":"2024-10-25T16:04:26","slug":"bs-en-54-122015","status":"publish","type":"product","link":"https:\/\/pdfstandards.shop\/product\/publishers\/bsi\/bs-en-54-122015\/","title":{"rendered":"BS EN 54-12:2015"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This European Standard specifies requirements, test methods and performance criteria for line detectors using an optical beam that detect smoke by utilizing the attenuation and\/or changes in attenuation of an optical beam, for use in fire detection and fire alarm systems installed in buildings (see <span class=\"std\"> <span class=\"std-ref\">EN&nbsp;54\u20111:2011<\/span> <\/span>).<\/p>\n<p>This European Standard provides for the assessment and verification of constancy of performance (AVCP) of line detectors using an optical beam to this EN.<\/p>\n<p>This European Standard does not cover:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>line detectors using an optical beam designed to operate with separations between opposed components of less than 1&nbsp;m;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>line detectors using an optical beam whose optical path length is defined or adjusted by an integral mechanical connection;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>line detectors using an optical beam with special characteristics, which cannot be assessed by the test methods in this European Standard.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"non-normative-note\">\n<div class=\"note-label\">\n  NOTE\n <\/div>\n<p>The term \u201coptical\u201d is used to describe that part of the electromagnetic spectrum produced by the transmitter to which the receiver is responsive; this is not restricted to visible wavelengths.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p><b>Fire detection and fire alarm systems &#8211; Smoke detectors.
