{"id":265512,"date":"2024-10-19T17:42:44","date_gmt":"2024-10-19T17:42:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pdfstandards.shop\/product\/uncategorized\/bsi-19-30385553-dc\/"},"modified":"2024-10-25T13:40:13","modified_gmt":"2024-10-25T13:40:13","slug":"bsi-19-30385553-dc","status":"publish","type":"product","link":"https:\/\/pdfstandards.shop\/product\/publishers\/bsi\/bsi-19-30385553-dc\/","title":{"rendered":"BSI 19\/30385553 DC"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This document specifies the additional or deviating requirements to <span class=\"std\"><span class=\"std-ref\">prEN 81-20<\/span><\/span> for new passenger and goods passenger lifts, which may be used to support faster evacuation of persons with difficulty in using stairs including in case of fire alarm.<\/p>\n<p>This document does not apply to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>lifts which are not included in a fire resisting building structure;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>the evacuation due to other circumstances, like explosion, chemical or biological attack, flooding, storm damage, earthquake etc.<\/p>\n<div class=\"non-normative-note\">\n<div class=\"note-label\">\n    NOTE\n   <\/div>\n<p>General evacuation guidance can be found in <span class=\"std\"><span class=\"std-ref\">ISO\/TS 18870<\/span><\/span>.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The following significant hazards are not covered in this document and are assumed to be addressed by the building designer:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>fire or smoke in the evacuation lift well, safe areas or machinery spaces;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>ingress of water to the lift well during evacuation process;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>insufficient or incorrectly located evacuation lifts;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>entrapment in waiting area (safe area) due to absence of lift service or adjacent stairs;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>structural collapse or failure of building services (e.g. power supply, lighting, ventilation) before the evacuation using lifts has been completed;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>presence of harmful gases, potentially explosive atmosphere, extreme climate conditions, transport of dangerous goods, etc.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p><b>BS EN 81-76.
