For harmonisation, the standard describes an additional interface between the drive of an rotary actuator and the positioner. It is an open concept for all manufacturers of actuators and positioners, allowing the interchangeability of different types on the same positioner. Particular attention was paid to the fact that the mounting is also suitable for high vibration and shock loading, and also for pipeless pilot valve installations.
