The purpose of 2018 Select IRC® Options for Use with the 2015 Michigan Residential Code is to familiarize the Michigan building professionals with the important updated and allowed options found in the 2018 International Residential Code®. Each part of this book includes a select number of Significant Changes to the International Residential Code® 2018 Edition that may be chosen by builders and designers to be submitted to the enforcing authority for approval as an alternative. Each change analysis features the affected code sections and identifies the change as newly added text, a modification or clarification of the existing language or deleted text. Accompanying each change is a photograph, detailed illustration or comprehensive example to assist and enhance reader understanding. Clarification of code language via full-color illustrations, photographs or examples to enhance comprehension of each change A detailed table of contents, part summaries, change summaries, and in-depth discussion of the change significance, all aimed at improving reader understanding Clear notations of all key changes, including deleted code language shown with a strike-through and new code text indicated as underlined text Logical organization, facilitating quick and accurate identification of key information, that follows the layout of the codes, including chapter, section number, and title format
