{"id":243868,"date":"2024-10-19T16:00:41","date_gmt":"2024-10-19T16:00:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pdfstandards.shop\/product\/uncategorized\/bs-en-50164-32006a12009\/"},"modified":"2024-10-25T10:58:10","modified_gmt":"2024-10-25T10:58:10","slug":"bs-en-50164-32006a12009","status":"publish","type":"product","link":"https:\/\/pdfstandards.shop\/product\/publishers\/bsi\/bs-en-50164-32006a12009\/","title":{"rendered":"BS EN 50164-3:2006+A1:2009"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This European Standard specifies the requirements and tests for isolating spark gaps (ISG) for lightning protection systems.<\/p>\n<p>ISG&#8217;s can be used to indirectly bond a lightning protection system to other nearby metalwork where a direct bond is not permissible for functional reasons.<\/p>\n<p>Typical applications include the connection to<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>earth termination systems of power installations,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>earth termination systems of telecommunication systems,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>text deleted<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>rail earth electrode of AC and DC railways,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>measuring earth electrodes for laboratories,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>installations with cathodic protection and stray current systems,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>service entry masts for low- voltage overhead cables,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>bypassing insulated flanges and insulated couplings of pipelines.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote>\n<p>NOTE ISG&#8217;s may also be suitable for use in hazardous conditions such as fire and explosive atmosphere.
